VICE PRESIDENT BIDEN VISITS FAMILY HISTORY LIBRARY

Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles visits with United States Vice President Joe Biden at the Family History Library, Friday, February 26, 2016. Biden received a copy of his family history.

We knew something was up when we arrived at the Family History Library on Friday.  There were dozens of men in black with ear pieces.  There was a bomb-sniffing dog.  Most of the parking lot was closed off and the back doors were wide open (we are only allowed in these doors before the library opens with a special pass key) with several of the secret service guys guarding the door.

They met in a room on one of the floors that is usually set aside for prayer meetings.  Our friends who usually attend that prayer meeting were told to have their meeting in another room and not to even peek out until they were told to.

Another friend said she looked out her apartment window (next to the library) and saw snipers on the roof.  The sniper just waved at her.

I guess whenever the vice president travels anywhere, they have to take all those precautions - especially in and around dangerous temple square.

No one we knew from the library actually saw the vice president, but it created quite a stir - especially until we found out what was going on.
